How Colorado Youth Sports collects, uses, and protects your information when you use coloradoyouthsports.com.

Last updated: June 24, 2026

The short version

  • What we collect: contact details you give us (such as your email and account info), program listing details from operators, and basic usage data.
  • Why: to run the directory, deliver the newsletter you ask for, process operator payments, and improve the service.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe — we never store your full card number.
  • Your choices: you can access, correct, or delete your data and unsubscribe from emails at any time.

01 · Who we are

Colorado Youth Sports (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the youth-sports directory at coloradoyouthsports.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, families with parent accounts, and organizations that list programs (“operators”).

02 · Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you create a parent or operator account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored only in hashed form).
  • Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and any sport interests you select. We use double opt-in to confirm it is really you.
  • Program listings. Operators submit organization names, descriptions, locations, age groups, contact details, registration links, and images.
  • Payment information. Paid operator plans are billed through Stripe. Stripe processes your card details directly; we receive only limited billing metadata (such as plan, status, and the last four digits).
  • Usage data. Like most websites, we automatically collect IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar diagnostic data.
  • Cookies. We use cookies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Service is used. See “Cookies and tracking” below.

03 · How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the directory and operator dashboard;
  • Create and manage your account and authenticate sign-ins;
  • Send the newsletter and service messages you have asked for;
  • Process operator subscriptions and payments through Stripe;
  • Respond to your questions and provide support;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues;
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

04 · How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:

  • Operators and listings. Information operators submit for a listing is shown publicly in the directory by design.
  • Service providers. We use trusted vendors — such as Stripe for payments and our email and hosting providers — who process data on our behalf and only as instructed.
  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

05 · Cookies and tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Service (for example, to keep you signed in) and analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.

06 · Children’s privacy

The Service is a directory intended for parents, guardians, and program operators — not for children. Accounts must be created by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at support@coloradoyouthsports.com and we will delete it.

07 · Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including password hashing and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

08 · Your rights and choices

You can:

  • Access and update your account information from your dashboard;
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email;
  • Request that we correct or delete your personal information by emailing support@coloradoyouthsports.com;
  • Disable cookies through your browser.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. We will respond to verified requests as required by law.

09 · Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then for any period required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

11 · Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
